Is 1 GB of RAM good for a Minecraft server? In this article, I want to help you decide how much RAM you should get for your Minecraft server.
How many RAM is good for a Minecraft server?
So to start off, the rule of thumb is one gigabyte of ram per 20 players. If you have 45 players and you expect to see 45 players on at once on your Minecraft server, I would recommend 3. Why 3 gigabytes of RAM? Because it’s able to hold up to 60 players smoothly. If you’ve got 2 gigabytes of RAM, you might see some performance issues when there’s 45 players because it’s over our 40 player recommendation.
I would recommend starting off with at least three gigabytes of random access memory if you are going to host a server that has been hacked. Why? Because the most recent version of Minecraft includes a great deal more data overall and a great deal more data for each player, the random access memory (RAM) must be able to hold a great deal more data for each user. If you are only going to be hosting a bungee cord server, then you should have at least three gigabytes of random access memory (RAM). If you already know that you want a bungee cord server, then the information that follows is relevant to your situation.
So I recommend at least 1 gigabyte of RAM. You don’t really need any more than 1 gigabyte of RAM for a bungee cord server. Why? Because a bungee cord server just redirects players; it doesn’t actually host the server itself, so it’s just going to read and write players to the actual server. Now if you’re gon na have it like 300 to 500 people connecting it to your server at once.
But how about Minecraft plugins?
If you also install any bungee cord plugins, then I will recommend that you get more RAM for it. If you have between 0 & 5 bungee cord plugins on your bungee cord server, then 1 byte of RAM will suffice. 6 to 15 bungee cord plugins to a gigabyte of RAM is what I recommend and anything beyond 16 plugins on your bungee cord server, 3 gigabytes of RAM or higher
So, you can choose which amount of RAM or how much RAM will be suitable for you. If you have 20 slots alright, for 20 players on it each time. You might be able to squeeze in one or two more players, but it’s generally the same rule as a normal Minecraft server. Anyway, if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below.
